I do FREE classes at the local Children's Museum. One of the "complaints" I have had is that people registering are required to enter payment information. I believe the system defaults to Credit Card Payment, so sometimes parents email me or tell me they "would prefer not to have to enter their CC when they register." I would rather have them "skip" the payment page all together. Is there a way to just allow them to enter their family/child info without having to go to the payment page and enter a form of payment?
The "Try a Class" link (preview feature) is designed for that type of scenario. It collects the minimum family information, but does not go through a payment page.
You could set the free classes up with lots of preview spots.
The only catch might be if you want current families to be able to use them, as they are not accepted as preview families.
If current (or new) families want to enroll using the standard registration process, and get to the payment page, they do not need to enter a credit card for free classes, as they can just say they are paying cash.
QUESTION: Is there a way to have the default payment set to Cash for the
Unfortunately, there is no way to default the payment page to cash.
I guess what we really need is to suppress the entire payment method section if there is $0 due. That would be a new feature.
You could use the registration method "Register with message" and enter a message that assures them there is no fee, and to use the cash option to submit.
Yes - I've tried that. But, they OFTEN don't read that.
Still get calls and emails asking "why" they have to enter their CC #.
It would be a GREAT FEATURE to be able to automatically suppress the
payment page when there is "0" cost.
